The Mr & Miss Lisabi Cultural Pageant is a 4-day, 3-night cultural showcase and empowerment experience for Egba youth. Held during Lisabi Festival Week, the event celebrates culture, confidence, leadership, talent, and community service. Contestants represent their Local Government Areas (LGAs) and participate in various rounds including talent, pet project, cultural knowledge, and evening wear.

Egba youth aged 18 to 30 (both male and female) who are passionate about culture, leadership, and community growth. Applicants must be available to attend all in-person activities during the pageant week.

  • Applications are screened by the Pageant Committee.
  • Shortlisted candidates are invited for virtual interviews.
  • The top 20 (10 males and 10 females) participate in a social media challenge featuring:
    • A 1-minute Pet Project video
    • A 2-minute Talent video
    • Public voting
  • The top 10 (5 males and 5 females) are invited to bootcamp.
  • Finalists compete live at the Grand Finale.

Contestants are assessed across six main categories with a combination of judge scores and public voting.

The contestant with the highest combined score will be crowned Mr or Miss Lisabi.

  • Comfortable clothes (joggers, jeans, leggings, shorts) for daily activities
  • Sneakers or trainers
  • Welcome party outfit
  • Outfit for community outreach
  • Cocktail or smart-casual outfits (2–3)
  • Outfit for talent performance
  • Outfit for pet project presentation
  • Cultural or Adire-inspired evening wear (gown or suit)
  • After-party outfit
  • Toiletries and personal items
  • Makeup

Yes. Finalists can:

  • Bring their own hair and makeup stylist; or
  • Pay a ₦50,000 fee for a professional in-house service package.
  • ₦10,000 registration fee (upon selection)
  • ₦15,000 top 10 finalist fee (includes camp materials, feeding, logistics, etc.)
  • Voting takes place in three phases:

     

    • For Pet Project
    • For Talent
    • Lisabi’s Choice (overall popularity)

     

    Talent and Pet Project categories will be scored 50% by judges and 50% through public vote. Lisabi’s Choice is 100% public voting. Voting is done online and possibly in-person. Details will be shared closer to the date.

Finalists will attend bootcamp sessions including workshops, rehearsals, outreach activities, and performances. You’ll be expected to:

  • Engage respectfully with organisers and fellow contestants
  • Attend all activities on time
  • Be prepared to speak, present, and perform when needed

Each finalist delivers a 45 to 60-second speech during the finale. It can focus on your cultural pride, leadership vision, or reason for entering the pageant. Judges assess your content, clarity, and presence.

This is assessed throughout bootcamp based on:

  • Respect for culture and organisers
  • Punctuality and participation
  • Cultural understanding and contribution

Teamwork and communication

A Pet Project is your idea for giving back to Egba land. It can focus on education, culture, entrepreneurship, health, women’s empowerment, etc.

  • Submit a 1-minute video before bootcamp
  • Share more during interview and presentation sessions
  • Top 2 will present on stage during the finale

Contestants showcase a unique skill such as singing, dancing, poetry, fashion design, drumming, acting, etc.

  • Submit a 2-minute video before bootcamp
  • Perform during camp talent show
  • Top 2 per gender will perform at the finale

Yes! Supporters can:

  • Volunteer (logistics, ushering, media)
  • Sponsor contestants or donate
  • Perform during the event

Help promote on social media

Aside from the main winners, special awards will include:

  • Best Talent
  • Best Speech
  • Best Evening Wear
  • Most Photogenic
  • Mr or Miss Congeniality
  • Cultural Ambassador
